Relive the highlights of the Britcopia that was The Spirit of Albion with two podcast options!
The live sessions recorded at the WIDR studios, live covers in studio of some of our British favorites, are now available as a podcast, for the first time ever. Copy that link and subscribe to it in iTunes or your favorite podcast stream app. You should see it available in the iTunes Store soon.
iTunes U continues to host whole episodes of recordings of The Spirit of Albion from 2009-2011 — perfect for long car rides through the north.
I have a super-secret stash of earlier 2008 and 2009 podcasts, that I hope to host (somewhere) (sometime) (soon).

if I'd only thought of something charming to say 4 May 2014 at 11:15 PM EDT by Charles
This news is long past due: The Spirit of Albion is on indefinite hiatus.
- Charles is become an inveterate US indie rocker, who listens only to the blood curdling screams of Elliott Smith stabbing himself in the heart. He is currently painstakingly remastering Mr. Smith's death throes into Dolby Digital Surround EX, for a three hour-long box set release Rhino Records is slating for June 2017.
- Brenden is currently stuck in his mind in a self-fulfilling philosophical quandary, brought on by having missed several of Jarvis Cocker's Jarvcast episodes released in 2006. Calvin Harris and John Barry are both with Brendan — in spirit, if not in person — helping him work through his never ending ennui, by creating a compilation album of their favorite Brian Eno hits. Yes ... you should expect guest vocals by Damon Albarn.

Save Student Media at Western 12 February 2013 at 11:41 AM EST by Charles
WIDR needs your help!
We're in the midst of a Save Student Media campaign — currently, it appears WMU might not be able to provide funding to WIDR and the Western Herald in the coming year. Without such funding, these institutions might cease to exist. Both are great voices in the community and a wonderful learning lab for communications students.
Please visit the "Save WMU Student Media" page at facebook for more info, and like the page for updates as the campaign mounts.
